Towards operationalising its mission, MAWASCO has a governance structure which consists of a Board of Directors appointed from a range of stakeholder interests and professional backgrounds. The day to day management activities is carried out by the Managing Director who is assisted by two managers of Commercial and Technical Departments.
MAWASCO’s organization structure aims at overseeing the provision of water services in the expansive area covering close to 320 square kilometers with a population approximated at 200, 000 people and 106,574 livestock. The region is constantly expanding in infrastructural facilities. The challenge of mobilizing and establishing relationships with communities; supervising designs and overseeing construction of the necessary works; and putting in place systems for work performance, accounting and reporting; all require a management system and a governance structure that will ensure that observable and tangible results are achieved as envisaged in the Water Act, MAWASCO Corporate Strategic Plan, MAWASCO Corporate Business Plan, National Water Development Plan, Vision 2030 and the UN Millennium Development Goals that advocates for water for all.
